WHERE DO YOU FIND THE GOODIES?

Do you get excited about items from the past? Me too. In fact, sometimes I wonder if its not an obsession with me. I can hardly drive by a yard sale or flea market. They are like MAGNETS!So, where and when is the best place to find the 'goodies'. Those items that remind you of the good old days. Well, here's the secret...yard sales! You can find the best items and the best prices at your local yard sales. But there is a draw back. You have to drive from one to the other and that often takes more gas than its worth! So the next best option is your local church 'flea market'. Most people are 'dumping' there items off there and just want to get rid of it. Prices are great and so is the selection! The negative is you usually have to DIG to find the good stuff. And if I can give any overall advice, it is to ARRIVE EARLY!!!!!So, now that you've exhausted all of the yard sales and local flea markets, what's next? Thrift stores. I find the small 'mission' ones to be the best. Goodwill and Salvation Army are fine but they can be a little expensive and picked over. If you're going to get the 'goods' at thrift stores you need to go OFTEN. So anytime you drive by the location, stop in. It won't take you long as you will be able to scan past the old stuff and only seek out the new.So, now that you know my secrets, get out there and do some DIGGING!
